Now Presenting: Yuki and Yeti

The food strike appears to have just been a fluke. They are eating even better now and not wasting anything.

The only negative to report is a bit of over-grooming by Yuki of poor little Yeti. He has a couple of irritated spots from her nibbling when she grooms. I will be keeping a close watch and if it appears to get worse or doesn't look like the spots are improving then the vet will get a call and maybe a visit.

Is it possible to muzzle a cat? :)

Glad to hear all is well with Yuki and Yeti! And no, you cannot muzzle a cat ;)

Some cats are just more prone to overgrooming, I'm not sure that your vet will have many answers. Some people have actually used products such as bitter apple to deter inappropriate grooming. You can purchase a cat muzzle, I would definitely NOT recommend using it in this situation though. If it really becomes unbearable you might consider consulting a cart behaviorist such as Marilyn Krieger.

On the closet shelf
Sneaky, stealthy, quietly
Leap! claws digging, OOOWWW!

Food being prepped
Must see the yummy goodness
Leap! claws digging, OOOWWW!

Yuki can make it
Normally without a hitch
From floor to shoulder

Back a pincushion
Screams of pain her symphony
Is purring applause?

Got a haircut and my beard removed before coming home yesterday. Yuki was quite puzzled by my missing fur.She was rapidly moving her head about looking at me quizically trying to figure out how to groom my face and head. After a very short grooming attempt at the back of my head she settled for vigorously nuzzling the side of my face.

Yeti has decided that he likes to lay still and let me pet him from head to tail and he also likes to close his eyes and let me pet him from between the eyes to tip of his nose. He still likes belly rubs as well.

Tort, They do growl for a variety of reasons. Don't be surprised when playing fetch you get a growl. They are not mad. That is not aggression. Mayhem growls when the doorbell rings. I freaked out the first time he growled at me, but he was so proud to be playing.
That vigorous rubbing is a nuzzle fest. Enjoy!

Spar growls when he catches his wand mouse. He growls when he is sleeping as well. I think its just an SV thing, or possibly just an "intelligent cats of all variety's do this thing".

I am sitting slightly hunched over with Yuki laying along my shoulders quietly resting. At one point I thought she might have been snoring.

Within arms reach Yeti is stretched out, no, now curled up.

I think it might be bedtime, but extricating myself from Yuki might prove problematic. Once my sleeping pill kicks in I'm doomed. :)

Oh the troubles with ambien!

Another day and another soggy noggin.

Yuki is so fascinated with grooming my head it seems to almost be her only objective when I'm there. In fact, trying to keep her from getting to my shoulders or worse trying to pry her off, makes me think she may actually be an octopus in a fur coat!

I stopped by the vet on the way home to get some forms filled out to submit my claims to Trupanion for their visit and was regaled with more stories of how everyone was taking pictures and that everyone loves my cats.
They were like that with San before he passed away too. They keep asking my secret for having such great pets. If I knew that I'd try to bottle it and sell it for a fortune. The staff at the vet are promising to email me pictures.

Also they were telling me something I had already figured out, that Yuki and Yeti are very closely bonded to one another and she is very motherly toward him. The vet checked to see if maybe Yuki had been bred and determined that, no she never had a litter. Apparently this is just a trait she learned from her mother. There is no way I could separate them without breaking their hearts.

Regarding their health, they checked out A-OK. The only noticed thing to work on was concentrated urine. That was probably from them holding their waste until the long trip ended. To fix it I am going to move the Glacier Point Perfect Fountain (what do you mean knock it off with the product placement?) into the safe room and order another one tonight. (Barry will be happy).

Tried an experiment. Bought a rotisserie chicken and sliced a breast up into little pieces and offered to all of my cats. They each took a bite or three and then ignored the rest. At least I now know the rest of it's MINE!, ALL MINE!

Well, that's our day, how was yours?

You got lucky with that chicken. Spar is a chicken hawk He must have grilled chicken breast daily. Organic cage free thank you very much!

Hmmmm....wondering if Pantene is the attractant for the hair grooming. One of our cats---our DSH girl---loves to groom my fiance's short hair while grabbing his head with her front paws and he allows her to sit on his back until she does her thing, purring all the while....we use Pantene, too. She has tried grooming my hair, but it's quite a bit longer and that did not go so well for her, thank God ;)
Our SV grooms my husbands short hair in exactly the same way. One of our DSH rescues does as well. He uses Pantene....

Forgot to tell you that I loved the bag pictures. They're a big hit around here too. In addition playing in the bag, all 3 of mine like to body surf with them. They flatten the bag and take a running leap onto it causing the bag to slide for a considerable distance. I had all the carpet removed from the house before I got my first SV and pergo floors are the cats' meow.

Ours bag surf as well! And I agree with carpet removal and Pergo. We don't need no stinkin' carpetz! Area rugs are good for surfing!
